Good choice for high school first of all
Also don’t be so hard on yourself, you don’t have to be the next Albert Einstein to get into PEA. If you don’t make it in this year then that just shows that you’ll need to work harder next year so you should definitely apply for 9th because you never know. But you SHOULD study hard for the SSAT not the SAT, especially the vocab section; all you can do to help yourself there is make a good amount of flashcards of words you don’t know that are likely to be on the test. You can send either your TOEFL or SSAT if you are a foreign student. Your grades should be above average. As for the languages and sports, it’s not the quantity that matters it’s the quality and the time and effort you put into it. You also want to make sure you have good recommendations from your teachers and counselor and well written responses for your essays (have your English teacher check over them). Lastly, the interview is the best and most fun part of the application. The interviewers there are all VERY friendly and amazing so don’t worry about it and enjoy the tour on campus. You’ll love it!!! Good luck
